UPDATE 4:38 PM -  Both lanes are now closed in the area of 518 East University Drive due to a gas leak repair. Please use an alternate route to avoid the area. Traffic will be detoured at the intersections of East University Drive and South Gay Street, as well as East University Drive and South Donahue Drive. We appreciate your patience during this necessary repair.

Original: A temporary lane closure will be in place near 518 East University Drive on the afternoon and evening of Friday, April 26, 2024, for repair of a damaged sanitary sewer lateral. Work is expected to begin around 1 pm CST and should take approximately 8 hours to complete. Eastbound traffic will be shifted to the center lane during the lane closure. Traffic direction signs and flaggers will be present to help alert drivers and assist with traffic flow as needed.

Primary repair work should be completed today, with additional intermittent lane closures as needed on Monday, April 29, for related repairs to the roadway surface.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes when possible and to exercise caution in the area, with traffic flow altered and workers present. The City of Auburn apologizes for any inconvenience to motorists, and we appreciate your patience during this necessary repair.
